Bride’s story

I was born and raised in West Philadelphia and am the youngest of three . I attended GW Carver High School of Engineering and Science and this is where I met Will. After high school I went to RPI (Will followed me there) and graduated in 2011. I worked at Merck for a few years and now I am a student again getting a graduate degree.

I can't believe we are finally getting married. When we first got together all those years ago I had no idea this would be our outcome, but I couldn't be happier that we prevailed. Will is definitely the perfect partner for me, he knows and understands me so well :) I can't wait to celebrate our wedding with all of you!

Groom’s story

I was born and raised in North and Northeast Philly. I went to GW Carver and RPI with Candice. Currently I am a Software Consultant working out of New York City.

I'm super excited about the wedding and can't wait for the big day. It's been an amazing 2 years living with the woman of my dreams and now she is going to be my wife! I'm gonna keep this bio short see ya at the wedding!

OUR LOVELINE

Wilberto and Candice have a long and rich history. Here are some of the key moments.

2003-2004
2003

First encounter

In our early high school years we didn't have many encounters. Our first distinct encounter was in the 9th grade at Engineering and Science (ENS) as we went to a National Academic League competition. Candice was taking attendance for the group and asked Will how to spell his name....

2004

Second Encounter

In 10th grade we had our second encounter. We were on a tour of Temple University and shared memories of a few different programs we participated in on Temple's campus. After the tour we both caught the subway home. During that train ride Candice mentioned her hands were cold and Will gave her his gloves.

2006-2007
Spring 2006

Third Encounter

On the last day of classes of our 11th grade year we crossed paths again. This time on the El Train going westbound in Philly. Will approached Candice and asked her what her summer plans were. Candice shared that she was going to be participating in Governor's School at Carnegie Mellon University and Outward Bound, Will was partcipating in a Mentorship Program at Drexel University and also participating in Outward Bound!

Summer 2006

The Beginning

In August of 2006, we both participated in outward bound where we learned survival skills while we backpacked for 1 week on the Appalachian Trail and canoed 1 week down the Delaware River Water Gap. During those 2 weeks we got to know each other and bonded. We became very close friends but a romance didn't emerge because we were both taken!

Fall 2006

Going Steady

When we began senior year we started to hang out with each other more. We both went on a weekend trip to RPI for a program that allowed propsective students to experience "College Life" for the weekend. During this trip a little romance was in the air, we hugged for the first time! Shortly after, Will got Candice a job selling newspaper subscriptions which caused us to spend even more time together. Eventually other students started to ask if we were dating. One day when we were on the phone Candice mentioned "Everyone is asking if we are dating are we?" Will said" I dunno, I guess" (very smooth) and that is how we got together!

Spring 2007

Senior Prom

In May of 2008 we went on our senior prom together. Tio Juni chaufferued us to the Mansion in Voorhees, NJ.

Summer 2007

First Trip with Friends: Jamaica

After graduating from ENS we went on a trip to Jamaica with a few of our current bridesmaids and high school friends. This was our first trip out of the country.

2007-2011
Fall 2007

Off to College: RPI Days

After high school we both attended RPI in the fall, (Will followed Candice there, hehe). Each year of college we lived near each other which was great. We had a great college experience and made life-long friends.

Summer 2008

First Trip with Family: Puerto Rico

After our freshman year of college, Candice went to Puerto Rico with Will's family and had the chance to meet more of the family in PR!

2012-2014
Summer 2012

First Trip Alone: Bahamas Cruise

Candice graduated two years before Will (He had two 9 month long co-ops) and after a rough semester for Will, during the Summer of 2012, Candice decided to surprise him with a cruise to the Bahamas!!!

Dec 2013

Moved in together: New Brunswick NJ

When Will graduated in May he lived in Brooklyn for a few months. We were tired of living apart from each other and decided to move in together. We moved to New Brunswick even though it meant longer commutes to work for both of us.

May 31st 2014

The Proposal!!

During Memorial Day weekend we were planning to stay in NYC at Will's company apartment. During that week Will told Candice to make sure she packed a nice dress, so she was slightly suspicious. On the 31st we decided to walk around Central Park so Candice could record Will performing a few magic tricks. For one trick Will asked Candice to help guess the audience members card. During that trick Will asked the audience to record the trick as Candice turned around to guess the card. When Candice turned back around Will was proposing!!!

Bridesmaids

    • Cecilia Darden

    Matron of Honor: Cecilia (aka C.G) is my older sister, with that being said I have known her my entire life :) She definitely is one of my role models and shaped how I turned out. CG was just married in 2014 so she has been a great resource to me.

    Marreshia Hunley

    I have known Marreshia practically all my life, we met when I was only 3! She is like my second sister and her children, Nakia and Nathan, are my god kids.

    Rosa Otero

    Rosa is Will's cousin and basically his other sister. They grew up together and spent lots of time with each other and the family. Now we all hang out together from going out to going on vacations with each other :)

    Amanda Casillas

    Amanda is Will's younger sister and we first met around 2009. I am very fortunate to have Amanda as a future sister-in-law because she and the entire family has always been very welcoming of me. Amanda's daughter, Diana, is one of our lovely flower girls.

    Gihan Smalls

    Gihan is my fellow chemical engineer buddy. We met freshman year of college but we became closer friends during our sophomore year. Although she lives pretty far away now in Michigan we still keep in contact :)

    Courtney brooks

    Courtney is my loveable sarcastic friend from high school. She is very passionate about nail polish and has a keen fashion sense. Conveniently for me, we wear the same sizes so I tend to borrow her clothes :)

    Bianca Williams

    Bianca is my younger cousin from Virginia but living in Georgia now. She is currently in school studying to become a make-up artist! She is always up for a good time and willing to offer fashion advise.

    Tenika Thompson

    Tenika is another close friend from high school. She is my vegan friend who loves to have a good time and was recently married herself.

    Alicia Rogers

    I met Alicia in the 9th grade of high school. Although we were in high school we went trick-or-treating together that year (so much fun) and I knew we were going to be great friends. Alicia is a soon to be mother which is very exciting and she is still celebrating our exciting day with us.

    • Carlos 'CJ' Aponte

    Best Man: CJ is my first cousin but he is like a brother to me. We grew up together since we were babies and have been very close for a long time. He is a history teacher and coaches a highschool track team.

    Anthony Adams

    Anthony has been my friend for more than 15 years. He was the first person to introduce himself when I moved on 'the block.' We grew up together and have shared many adventures and war stories together.

    Josh Perez

    Josh is my older brother. He is super smart and athletic. I am very proud of him as he is a great father to his two kids: Deanna and Josh Jr.

    Christian Caccamise

    Christian is a very close friend of mine. We worked at the same consulting company and we met when we got placed on the same client. He is super adventurous, is always up for a challenge and loves the Buffalo Bills! Im glad to have him as one of my groomsmen.

    Mikey Guzman

    Mikey is another cousin of mine who I grew with. We are very close in age so we got to spend a lot of time growing up together. I am excited that he is accompanying us down the aisle!

    Dave Gupta

    Dave is a great friend of mine and I first met him when we worked together. He is all the way from Oklahoma so we spent a lot of time exploring New York City together!

    Daniel Gilligan

    Dan is my closest friend from College. Actually he is my brother from another mother! Dan and I are both memebers of the same Fraternity (Phi Mu Delta) and have been great friends for about 5 years.

    Justin Casillas

    Justin is my other younger brother. We both share a similar passion for film. Words cannot express how proud I am of him for pursuing his love of film and I know he is going to do great things!

    Jonathan Casillas

    Jonathan is one of my younger brothers. We grew up together and have lots in common. It's kind of crazy, we spent a lot of time apart growing up but our sense of humor, mannerisms and practical jokes are eerily similar! He is the father of two beatiful girls: Jaylen and Janessa
